This is a great example of how plastic bumpers can be repaired, if this was taken to a panel shop they would say it is completely stuffed and would need to be replaced, by the time they add on every little expense a insurance claim would be necessary, but wait maybe it can be saved.

Okay lets start with the basics, nearly all bumpers put on cars these days are made from Polypropylene (PP), this material is a thermoplastic polymer which means it will soften and melt when heated, this means it can be heated up and re-shaped, plastic welded and recycled. very carefully warming the damaged area, I can push the dent back into shape, combining this with a body file to find the high and low spots, I can get the plastic straight again most of the time without the need for body fillers, this video shows the process in more detail, https://youtu.be/uBDgG43TNa4. Once the repair is completed it is a pretty simple paint repair just doing the lower section and side, the paint is blended and buffed when dried, the result is a quality repair that is well under the excess cost,
